Banff
Banff contains a variety of fascinating architecture in a number of contrasting styles. Georgian and Edwardian architecture can be found in parts while down towards the harbour are examples of more traditional buildings - this contrast is part of the charm of the area.
Though no longer a commercial port, the harbour benefited from the building of a new yachting marina in 2006 which is well used all year round. On the harbour front can be found leisure pursuits such as wildlife power-boat trips and diving instruction.
Elsewhere in Banff you can find Duff House which serves as part of the National Gallery of Scotland and houses a range of art treasures and superbly furnished rooms. It also hosts a programme of artistic events and is used as a base for artists and writers.
